π§π Hi Everyone! I'm Jodie, the owner and manager of Cornish Pixies Nursery, and after many years working in childcare, I'm incredibly proud to say that the dream of opening my own nursery is now a reality! β¨ Having lived in Torpoint all my life, it means so much to me to be able to create a nursery right here in the community I've always called home. I'm very much a hands-on person, so you'll often find me right in the middle of the action - getting messy, joining in with activities, sharing stories, singing songs and, of course, having plenty of fun alongside the children and our wonderful team! ποΈππΏ You'll see me at nursery every day, welcoming our children and families and working closely alongside our team. Building strong, trusting relationships with our families is incredibly important to me. I want every parent to feel confident that their little one is happy, safe, loved and truly cared for while they are with us. π At Cornish Pixies, our vision has always been to create a magical, nurturing, home-from-home environment where children can feel a true sense of belonging, explore the world around them and develop at their own pace. Watching our little nursery grow has been absolutely magical. π₯Ήπ§We're welcoming new little faces, growing our wonderful team and creating so many special memories along the way. It is such a privilege to be part of these precious first steps into learning, friendships and independence. Every child who walks through our doors becomes a little part of the Cornish Pixies family, and I wouldn't be more grateful for the trust our families place in us. π This really is just the beginning for Cornish Pixies Nursery, and I'm so excited for everything the future holds. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, believed in our little dream and helped make it what it is today. Here's to lots more magic, memories, messy play, laughter and happily-ever-afters! π§β¨π Cornish Pixies Nursery - Where dreams come true πΏπ§π
πΏ Hello Everyone! πΏ I'm Jamie-Leigh, although most people know me as Jay, and I'm delighted to be a part of the Cornish Pixies Nursery team as Deputy Manager. I'm a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner, with a number of additional qualifications, and I have over 12 years experience working within the Early Years sector. π Throughout my career, I have worked across a variety of roles, including 1:1 support for children with SEN, Early Years Practitioner, Room Leader and Deputy Manager. I moved to Torpoint 12 years ago after meeting my husband, and we now have two wonderful boys, aged 4&8. Both of my children have additional needs, and I took 3 years away from my career to focus on raising them and supporting them through their individual journeys and transitions. This experience has strengthened my understanding of the importance of inclusion, patience, understanding and working closely with families to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive. π« Outside of nursery, family life keeps me very busy! I have a little black dog called Barnie πΎ, who is an absolute bundle of energy and certainly keeps us all on our toes! I'm also a very creative person and enjoy drawing, arts and crafts and crocheting. π¨π«π§Ά I am passionate about providing high-quality care, learning and experiences for every child. I'm very much a hands-on practitioner and enjoy being involved in all aspects of nursery life - from messy and sensory play π«, dancing and singing ππΆ, to those quieter, meaningful interactions that help nurture each child's development, curiosity, confidence and sense of self-worth. πΏπ As Deputy Manager, my role is not only to help ensure that every child has a positive and enriching experience at nursery, but also to support families throughout their child's Early Years journey. I believe that strong, trusting relationships between practitioners and families are essential in helping children feel secure, confident and ready to learn. I want all parents to feel confident and secure that your little one is safe, loved and cared for whilst with me. And that I am always here for support and welcome you to chat with me at any time. πΏπ§ I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow, develop a sense of self being, be independent and use those little imaginations to create a whole new world of adventures and I cant wait to be apart of those amazing adventures to. πΊοΈβ¨π§
Weβre super excited to introduce you to Becky our new team member! ππ§ My name is Rebecca, but most people call me Becky. I am a Level 3 Qualified Early Years Practitioner and I am really excited to be part of the team at Cornish Pixies Nursery. I have worked in early years for around 3 years, including roles as a 1-1, Early Years Practitioner and Youth Worker. I took a little break from childcare over the past three years, but after having my son, I realised just how much I missed working with children and how much of a passion I have for supporting them and watching them grow. I have a little boy who is 9 months old and I have lived in Torpoint for the past 3 years. Outside of nursery, I enjoy drawing and reading, as well as spending time with my family. I love supporting children to reach their full potential and helping them build confidence as they learn and develop. I really enjoy creating new and exciting ways for children to learn through play, and youβll often find me singing songs and getting involved in activities with the children! My role is to support each child as they reach their individual milestones, while making sure they feel happy, safe and cared for throughout their day. I believe every child is unique and deserves to be supported in a way that works best for them.
Hi Everyone, My name is Emily, and I am excited to be joining the Cornish Pixies team. I have a Level 3 NVQ qualification in childcare. I have worked in childcare for almost 6 years. I have always loved caring for children, which I think comes from growing up in a big family. I moved to Torpoint over 6 years ago, where I live with my fiancΓ© and our dog, Buddy. In my free time, I love reading, going for walks with Buddy and spending time with family. I am so excited to be joining the Cornish Pixies team and look forward to meeting all the children and families.
