🧚💖 Hi everyone! My name is Jodie, and I’m the owner and manager here at Cornish Pixies Nursery. I’ve lived in Torpoint all my life, and I’ve worked in the childcare industry for many years with a long-held dream of opening my own setting. I’m so excited that this dream is finally becoming a reality, and the nursery is nearly ready—I can’t wait to share it with you all! I’m very much a hands-on person, so you’ll often find me joining in with all things messy, creative, and fun alongside the team. I’ll be at the nursery every day to greet parents and children, and I’ll also be working in the rooms with the staff. I’m always happy to chat with parents and want to make sure you feel just as comfortable and supported as your children. My goal is to make the transition into nursery as smooth and reassuring as possible. More than anything, I want Cornish Pixies Nursery to be a safe, joyful, home-from-home environment where children can truly thrive and grow into the special little people they are meant to be.
Deputy Manager
Hi Everyone! I’m Jamie-Leigh, but most people call me Jay. I’ve taken on the role of Deputy Manager at Cornish Pixies Nursery. I’ve worked alongside Jodie for many years, and I’m excited to start this new chapter with her. I’ve worked with children for over 12 years across different areas including respite care for foster carers, nursery, pre-school and primary settings. I care deeply about providing high-quality care and learning for your children and making their days at nursery enjoyable and meaningful. I’m very hands-on and I enjoy getting involved in activities, from messy play to dancing and singing nursery rhymes. My role isn’t just to make sure your children have the best experience at nursery, but also to support you as parents and carers throughout the transition and build a strong, trusted relationship. As a setting, we pride ourselves on being a home-from-home environment where children belong, achieve and thrive.
Nursery Practitioner
We’re super excited to introduce you to Abbie our newest team member! 💖🧚 Abbie is level 3 qualified and a qualified teacher! She has lots of experience working in both nursery’s and schools! Abbie studied at Plymouth university and has had a love for child development since her GCSE days! “I’m passionate about caring for children and helping them feel safe and happy, and I’m really excited to enhance my experience within the EYFS. I love being outdoors and going on little adventures and I can’t wait to get stuck in and be part of the team!”
